Frequently Asked Questions

What will I get out of 1-1 coaching?

Ultimately, that will be for you to choose, but I will absolutely be the guide. Just starting college and trying to figure out what path to take? Great, we’ll focus on understanding your passions and interests and then turn that into a tactical plan to test out classes and extracurricular involvement that can confirm your path. Worried about starting internship recruitment next year? No worries, we will put together a tactical, holistic plan that gives you the highest chance of landing an interview at your dream company and then work on the interview skills and mindset needed to perform when the pressure is on!

Who is this coaching for?

This coaching is for high-potential college students and early-career professionals who want to grow faster, with more intention. I work with ambitious individuals who are already doing well—but know they could go further with a bit more strategy, structure, and support.

What does each coaching session look like?

Each session is tailored to the individual, but typically includes goal-setting, reflection, problem-solving, and actionable next steps. Some sessions are focused on career moves, others on mindset, time management, relationships, or clarity during key transitions. It’ll be up to the individual, but I’ll help guide you to the right topic for the day when it’s not clear.

What topics can we work on together?

Common focus areas include academic or professional planning, internship or job search strategy, imposter syndrome, leadership skills, relationship-building, confidence, and decision-making. We often work across my MAP IT framework: Mindset, Academics, People, Involvement, and Target.

Is 1-1 coaching like therapy and/or academic advising?

Not quite. Coaching is forward-looking and action-oriented. I’m not a licensed therapist, and I don’t replace academic advisors. But I do help you think deeply, clarify your goals, and build a personal strategy to move forward.

Why should I start coaching in college or early in my career?

Many high school students have college admissions consultants (similar to coaches) and then top executives have executive coaches. But some of the most critical decisions and life transitions to get right happen in your college and early-career years. Getting ahead early will help you stay ahead and reach the ambitious life and career goals that people like you have!

If I’m an ambitious young person’s parent/guardian, will I be brought along on their coaching journey?

Sorry, mom and dad, but you’ve already done an awesome job getting your high achiever to this point. Coaching is often a very personal journey, so it must be confidential. Ultimately, it will be up to them to share their experience with you if they would like to do so.

Why should I consider one of the cohort-based coaching sessions that includes other students?

Cohort-based coaching gives students the chance to grow not just through 1-on-1 guidance—but by learning with and from each other. In my experience, some of the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when students realize: “I’m not the only one feeling this way.”

These small-group sessions are designed to give you a sense of community, a space to ask honest questions, and the chance to hear how other high-performing students are navigating similar decisions. Whether it’s managing pressure, building confidence, or figuring out what’s next, it’s powerful to be surrounded by people who get it—and to realize you’re not alone.

I guide the discussion, offer frameworks and tools, and make sure each person gets value from the session. And unlike big seminars or generic webinars, these cohorts are small, intentional, and filled with students who care deeply about doing the work to grow.
